Taipei was possibly my favourite food of the whole trip, mainly because I found the most variation. The night markets (my aboslute favourites!) was one of the big reasons, although the beef noodles were also next level. Mmmmm…

We spent a day on a long day trip outside of Taipei. We did the common tourist trip… out to Yehliu Geopark, the to the mountain village of Jiufen, the Golden Waterfall and then to the lantern village of Shifen. A great day of gorgeous views.

The nice thing about Taipei being nestled in the mountains is the ability to catch the metro to go for a hike! Spent about 3 hours to hike Elephant Mountain, nestled in the woods near Taipei 101. Great, if misty views of the city!
17/12/24 – 21/12/24
3 full days in Taipei. Enough to get a taste of the city and I loved it! An interesting mix of Japan, Korea and China. Interesting mix of old grimy buildings (like parts of Hong Kong) and newer “luxury” areas. Also fascinating nestled in the mountains.
Highlights were the National Palace Museum, Night Markets and FOOD!
